It was a business-like performance from Sporting Kansas City in their 2012 home-opening 3-0 victory over New England Revolution on Saturday night at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, and everybody’s favorite post-game podcast makes it 2012 debut to break down and re-live all the ups and downs.
Graham Zusi, Kei Kamara and CJ Sapong picked up the goals on the night following a 15th minute red card for Revolution defender Stephen McCarthy. The night was always going to belong to the Sporting faithful on this night, though, regardless how simple or difficult New England made it.
Andy is joined by Charles Gooch of the Kansas City Star’s soccer blog The Full 90 to re-hash the night’s events, provide some pinpoint accurate tactical analysis, but also bring the Sporting masses back down to earth just a bit. They’re not going to all be this easy, folks, so enjoy it until next Sunday, but do listen in to find perspective.
Also, Sport-elona — it’s here, everybody. There’s an amazing statistic from this game that tells of Sporting’s sheer dominance over New England on the night, and it makes Andy’s head spin. Plus, when you get a team performance like that, how do you pick a Man of the Match? Never fear, for Talkin’ Touches does it for you so that you won’t have to, unless you follow along on Twitter and answered the question yourself.
Bonus: Roger Espinoza — that is all. Ballin’ out of control.
